On course for expansion: Amadys acquires Passcomm

09 May 2022

Amadys continues to focus on growth and expansion: With the acquisition of the British value-added integrator and distributor Passcomm Ltd, the end-to-end system integrator continues its consistent buy-and-build strategy and expands into the UK market for the first time.

Passcomm, based in Warrington, Cheshire, has been operating in the UK market since 1999 as a systems integrator and supplier of passive network components. The fast-growing company offers telecommunications solutions across a broad range of industries. The telecoms integrator specialises in fibre connectivity for the FttX markets and also for transportation, utilities and oil & gas. Passcomm has been engineering led for 23 years and is characterised by a high level of technical and fibre optic know-how, customised solutions and individual customer support. The company partners with industry-leading manufacturers for its product solutions.

“Passcomm perfectly complements Amadys and opens up market access for us in the UK. With this acquisition, we are bringing on board a long-standing provider who is very experienced in FttH expansion. Passcomm offers solutions that optimally expand our portfolio as a system provider. At the same time we offer a greater value to our customers in the European market”, says Hein Wilderjans, CEO of Amadys. Amadys provides passive network components for the telecom, electricity, water, gas and industrial sectors and has a strong local presence in six European countries. With the acquisition of companies in the field of FttH expansion, the company is consistently pushing ahead with its goal of being able to offer the complete range of services for successful broadband expansion from a single source as a one-stop solution provider.

“We are very excited to become part of the Amadys Group. From the first conversation, it was clear that Amadys and Passcomm share the same vision. It’s a great fit,” says David Waine, Managing Director of Passcomm, and continues: ” Now is the crucial stage in broadband roll-out in the UK. Together with Amadys, we can now better serve the growing FttH market in the UK. Clearly the group will be serving the broader European market, however Passcomm will focus on the UK. With industry-leading manufacturers, we offer best-in-class system solutions, which we tailor very flexibly and individually to the respective customer and project requirements with our agile team.”
