Amadys to acquire SKG as next chapter in their buy-and-build process

17 November 2021

End-to-end system integrator Amadys is acquiring SKG, one of Austria’s leading suppliers of active and passive products for telecom and datacom networks. The acquisition – subject to regulatory approval – is an important next step in Amadys’ development as a European provider of total connectivity solutions.

SKG was founded in 1978 as part of the SKB-GROUP, operating out of Schwechat in Austria and has a daughter company FCS located in Slovakia (Nitra) that is specialised in fiber termination activities.

The company has a diversified customer base in different sectors, including the digital infrastructure sector as well as energy suppliers, technology and construction companies. More than 70% of the revenue of SKG is generated by Wide Area Network (WAN) and telecom products, although the product portfolio includes Local Area Network (LAN) applications and maintenance and installation services as well.

“We are extremely happy to welcome SKG in the Amadys Group”, says Arthur Graevendiek, Managing Director DACH region. “SKG has more than 40 years of experience in the fiber optic domain and serves its customers with highly reliable products, solutions and systems. Since Austria and Belgium are very similar in terms of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) developments, we can use the accumulated experience of Amadys to support SKG to become a major player in the FTTH market.”

“I am very pleased that SKG will become a part of the Amadys Group”, adds Alexander Tremmel, Managing Partner at SKB Industrieholding GmbH. “SKG serves an attractive market, which is expected to significantly grow due to the increasing data traffic as well as the exploding demand for high-speed bandwidth and I’m convinced that together with Amadys they can secure their position in this market.”

After the acquisition of SKG, Amadys will employ more than 250 people and will have physical locations in the Benelux, Germany, Denmark, Austria and Slovakia.
